Grégoire Divaret-Chauveau: Programmer la forme et le mouvement
Grégoire works at Merci Michel. He is a programmatic computer artist. He loves to use mathematical concepts and geometric knowledges to code.
About his workshop:
The workshop aims at understanding how shape and motion are linked. Using examples of famous works, learners will revisit the essential tools of creative programming.
Starting with coordinate systems, canvas drawing methods: points / lines / surfaces.
They will then learn to manipulate the objects (translation and scaling) to animate them (interpolation).
They will put these skills into practice by implementing a particle engine before addressing the theme of colour.
After a short overview of the different qualities of the colours, they will learn how to handle them, mix them and create custom palettes.
They will then see how to create and control the curves, review the essential notions of trigonometry before continuing towards the creation of random.
The workshop will then open with advanced algorithms: triangulation and Voronoi diagram, diffusion limited by aggregation, symmetry groups, differential growth.
Depending on the needs of the learners, it will also be possible to open and reuse the notions previously seen in a 3D environment (WebGL).
A rather solid code editor (VSCode, Sublime, intelliJ).
You can also bring your laptop if you prefer to work directly on your machine.
Workshop: Nov. 14th & 15th, Pyramyd formation
